The painting Flight of the Soul emerges from the landscape of dreams. Since coming to the United States, I have often witnessed my soul rising above my hometown of Derbent—soaring over streets and rooftops, over the echoes of childhood, as if moving through a world both real and eternal.
Though my life now belongs to another land, my spirit drifts between worlds, a silent traveler guided by memory and longing. In these flights, the soul remembers its origins, tracing invisible threads that bind past and present, earth and sky, the seen and the unseen. It is a journey of remembrance, of continuity, and of the timeless essence that resides within us all.
